Ludesch municipal centre (Ludesch, Austria, 2006)

  • Type of project:
  • Integration type:

The semitransparent monocrystalline photovoltaic modules shade the village square and protect it from the rain. Because of the exposed location in a snowy area and being mounted on a sawtooth roof, the PV modules had to meet stringent requirements regarding material, connection and mounting. The PV modules, each almost 2.5 m² in size, were therefore calculated by a structural engineer for glass and designed for the usual local snow loads. Due to the large area of the individual panes and the thickness of the glass, the weight of each module is approx. 93 kg (LUDESCH 2006).
