Monitoring

Solar monitoring systems allow exact monitoring of PV system yield and function. Modern systems are modular in design. The basic components are:

Network adapter: expansion card for the inverter that allows sending of data to the datalogger
Datalogger: interface between the inverter and the PC; formats data for the software
Software: display and analysis of data. The sample configuration shows a system with a central inverter, datalogger and string control. Using a string control to monitor the individual module strings is optional.
