Heat demand

The heat demand, and thus the heating load of buildings is influenced by the condition of the building envelope and air change. Air change is determined by the ventilation system and user behaviour.

The results of the simulation show that the PV double façade has the greatest savings potential not only with regard to cooling, but also with regard to heating energy demand.

The sunshading façade with blinds reduces cooling energy demand by around 40%, but entails an almost equal increase in heat demand. PV façades with different module inclinations achieve a roughly 20% reduction of heat demand.
