Planning factors
Smooth operation of an integrated PV system optimised for yield hinges substantially on the following three planning factors:
- Orientation South-facing surfaces with an approx. 35° inclination from horizontal generate the highest yields
- Ventilation The electricity yield of the PV system decreases the more the modules heat up. The decrease in output is less with thin-film modules than with crystalline.
- Shading The solar energy yield decreases in partial shading, for example due to neighbouring buildings or vegetation.
