Legislation and standards

Standards represent the state of the art and can be seen as recommendations. In the event of damage or faults, however, it is assumed that the products must conform to the state of the art. Federal or regional legislators can declare a standard to be binding. One example is ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8001, whose binding effect was codified in the 2002 Elektrotechnikverordnung (electrical engineering regulation).

When considering building-integrated PV systems, standards, guidelines and designations from the following areas must be observed:
  • PV systems
  • Glass
  • Façades
