Constructing a photovoltaic façade involves just a little more work than a standard glass façade. It is important to have a fundamental knowledge of the main planning factors and the administrative procedure involved in construction. It must also be noted that several project partners are necessary in order to carry out a BIPV project, unless it is carried out by a general contractor. Involving all of the project partners as early as possible during the planning process is one of the key criteria for successful realisation.

The following diagram describes a possible sequence of the steps in a project, including construction and operation.
